Esimit a sailing project in support of economic crisis
Lunedì 17 Ottobre 2011 10:13
The Esimit Europa Project, an Ambassador of Cooperation Between the European Union and the Russian Federation. The Esimit Europa project organized a gala evening in Trieste, attended by ambassadors from different European countries, members of the European Parliament and executives from the leading European enterprises. Keynote speeches from Igor Simčič, Founder of the Esimit Europa Project, and Knut Fleckenstein, Chairman of the Delegation to the European Union and Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, were delivered, discussing a necessity of strengthening collaboration between the European Union and the Russian Federation for a further success on the global market.
“The European Union and the Russian Federation need common goals and common projects to get closer to each other, especially in their major fields of cooperation – energy, investments, innovations and partnership for modernization. Europe needs winning symbols, such as Esimit Europa project, to become strong and united”, said Knut Fleckenstein, Chairman of the Delegation to the European Union and Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

“Due to economic crises Europe is suffering hard times. The only way for European nations to remain competitive in the global challenges of today is through collaboration, based on mutual trust and respect. Together with our endorsers and partners of the Esimit Europa project we are aiming to the long-term perspective, in welfare of all European citizens”, emphasized Igor Simčič, Founder of the Esimit Europa Project.

The Esimit Europa project uses an extraordinary sailing boat, patronaged by the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso and sponsored by the leading Russian energy company Gazprom, as a platform to foster sport, business and diplomatic relations between the European Union and the Russian Federation. Due to its noble vision of unifying Europeans, stimulating mutual understanding and cooperation in last 16 years, the project was endorsed by many European governments. Among those who have recently stressed strong support to the project, is Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“The Esimit Europa initiative embodies the absolute necessity of the strengthening of strategic relations between the Russian Federation and the European Union. Only this Europe – with a global approach and with a good task – division among all of us – could guarantee peace and stability to our continent. This philosophy of mutual collaboration and unity of efforts has to be at the basis of our common actions, taken upon the intensification of our relations in many different fields. The road to the further deepening of our collaboration lies in the strengthening of our mutual trust. A concrete support for this purpose is your initiative, which uses the symbol of an elegant sailing boat to help us understand, once again, that the building of models of mutual collaboration, oriented on a long-term perspective, are the guarantee of successfully clearing out the storms as at sea, so in the field of international relations”, stressed Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

According to Igor Simčič, further diplomatic support is foreseen for next months, as well as representing Europe outside the European continent will be one the next goals with his sailing boat Esimit Europa 2.
